The impact of e-commerce on farmers’ income growth and rural entrepreneurship development in China

Abstract

The factors influencing the development of e-commerce in rural China are analyzed: human capital, social capital and network infrastructure. The effects and mechanisms of e-commerce impact on farmers’ entrepreneurial behavior and the formation of typical schemes of their activities are considered. The significance of e-commerce for job creation, business development and income growth of farmers in rural China is revealed. The prospects of integrating e­commerce on marketplaces with digital logistics and social networks are considered. The main provisions of the state policy in China on the development of e­commerce in rural areas are summarized.

Proposals for the application of China’s experience in e­commerce in Belarus in combination with the improvement of transportation and logistics infrastructure in rural areas are formulated.
