Engagement of Belarusian dairy enterprises in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: institutional mechanisms, export drivers, and sustainable supply chain requirements

The study explores the role of Belarusian dairy enterprises in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the context of export­oriented growth, tightening sustainability requirements across global value chains, and changing institutional conditions in major destination markets. The analytical framework combines the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the National Strategy for Sustainable Development of Belarus through 2040 with SDG Index data for SCO member states (2016–2025) and evidence on the structure of Belarusian dairy exports.

It is established that the SDGs are becoming a practically significant competitiveness factor for producers. The concentration of exports on the Russian and Chinese markets heightens the role of ESG compliance, non­financial reporting, raw material traceability, and environmental efficiency. The correlation­regression analysis confirms a convergence effect in the SCO countries’ SDG dynamics and the increasingly demanding competitive environment. A shift from declarative responsibility to the operational integration of the SDGs through supplier codes, KPIs, risk audits, data disclosure, and partici­ pation in the UN Global Compact network in Belarus is substantiated. The conclusion is drawn that systematic engagement with the sustainable development agenda reduces foreign trade risks, streng­ thens importer trust, and supports national priorities of food security and export growth.
