Assessment of the resource potential of the dairy industry in the context of regional development

Abstract
Based on the information on the development of the dairy industry in the commodity sector of agriculture, the peculiarities of resource endowment and factors influencing the rate of milk production in the regions of Belarus are identified. The system of key indicators necessary for setting strategic planning goals, developing and monitoring the implementation of sectoral regional programs and applying support measures that correspond to the dynamic functioning of the industry and allow for the maxi mum realization of the resource potential is presented. The proposed analytical approaches and the system of indicators allow to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of the industry, to determine the directions of its development, as well as to find and rationally use the reserves for improving the efficiency of milk production.
